About this tour
Travel through one of the most picturesque and least explored corners of the Central Valley on the Orosi / Cachí / Miradores tour, a circular route through the province of Cartago that combines mountain landscapes, terraced coffee plantations, colonial history and hydroelectric engineering. The tour begins at the Mirador de Orosí, a panoramic point that offers spectacular views of the valley, the meandering Reventazón River and the Tapantí National Park in the background. From there, you’ll descend toward the town of Orosí, home to Costa Rica’s oldest colonial church still in operation, built in 1743, and its small museum of religious art.
